Join
the Illinois Coalition for School Health Centers and the Illinois
Department of Human Services for the
School Health Center
Statewide Conference: Collaboration, Community, Commitment.
This
year’s theme reflects the school health center community’s leadership
and commitment to improving the overall health and well-being of
students in Illinois. School health centers are planned partnerships
among schools, communities, providers, parents and students who engage
in continuous dialogue to meet the health needs of the community’s
children and adolescents. This conference will provide these partners
with resources and tools to improve student health in Illinois.
The
conference aims to:
• Provide resources and facilitate discussions for new and
developing school health centers
• Highlight the importance of youth in the steering and
maintenance of the school health center model
• Build a strong coalition between health care providers, health
advocates and the youth they serve
• Address current trends in child/adolescent health
• Increase collaboration between schools and school health
centers
• Enrich and strengthen the skills of clinicians, administrators and
allied staff in the school health center setting
• Provide both formal and informal opportunities for attendees to
share ideas, information and experiences
• Promote and develop the school health center model through
advocacy opportunities
