Joing the Youth Advisory Council's (YAC)

Meet new people, learn leadership skills, and make a difference!

It’s hard for people our age to find affordable, accessible and QUALITY healthcare, that’s why we work hard to make positive change for school health centers or full-service medical clinics in schools. Students who can get convenient, affordable and teen-friendly healthcare are more likely to stay healthy, stay in school and be successful.  This year, in addition to our work for School Health Centers, we are launching a campaign against the tobacco industry which often targets children and youth to start unhealthy behaviors.

We are the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) of the Illinois Coalition for School Health Centers and we are making a difference! We are student leaders from schools just like yours that have school health centers, and we care about the health of our peers. YAC members lobby congressmen and women, educate their peers and the community on youth health issues, and run an anti-tobacco campaign.
