Illinois Coalition for School Health Centers (ICSHC)
Program Development and Evaluation Committee:
Meeting Time: Third Thursday of every month from 2:00 to 4:00pm
The purpose of the committee is to support the efficacy of the school health center model through program development, evaluation, technical assistance and training. The committee helps to organize regional meetings and the webinar series for school health centers, provides oversight to projects, and supports the creation and marketing of resources such as the SHC Policy and Procedures Manual and Partnering with SHC: What Schools Need to Know. During the next year, we look forward to continued efforts in improving data collection and reporting as we work collaboratively with multiple partners including IDHS and identified community health centers to pilot a comprehensive SBHC evaluation.
Public Education and Advocacy Committee:
Meeting Time: Second Thursday of every month from 2:00 to 4:00pm
The purpose of the committee is to guide advocacy at the local, state and federal levels on behalf of school health centers, increase awareness about the school health center model through public education, provide insight into the youth development work, and develop the advocacy skills of ICSHC members. The committee organizes advocacy events such as Advocacy Day in Springfield, develops and updates SHC education campaigns for members including the Back-to-School Campaigns, Key to Success Campaign, and School Health Center Awareness Month. The committee also guides the efforts of ICSHC’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC).
Meeting Time: First Monday of every month from 2:30 – 4:00pm
The purpose of the committee is responsible for organizing the highly anticipated annual conference. Members will select a theme, determine the format, recruit presenters and attendees and assist with logistical planning.
