Illinois Coalition for School Health Centers (ICSHC)
Advocacy Day
You are a champion for those in need, and we are exceptionally thankful for your deep commitment. Your generous support is what allows us to continue moving forward in the fight for healthy families.
On April 11, 2013, 200 youth advocates and adult allies descended on the Capitol to advocate for school health centers, mental health services, and sex-ed reform, which passed the House 66-52 on April 17 after 3 years of hard work!
Closing out the event, students gathered at the Rotunda and for an energizing speech by Senator Kotowski where he reaffirmed his support of school health centers and adolescent health initiatives and talked to the students about leadership. Students also spoke at the rally and discussed why adolescent health matters to them. The event was a great success and we are hope for your continued support so that we can bring even more attendees in 2014!
