New Tdap Requirement for Illinois
The Illinois Department of Public Health recently released a notification letter to alert parents about the new Tdap requirement for the 2013-2014 school year that will require all students entering, advancing, or transferring into 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades show proof of receiving one dose of the Tdap vaccine. CDPH Tdap Clinics
For the new Tdap requirement, if a student does not have a regular provider, the Tdap vaccine will be offered by the Chicago Department of Public Health at no cost on Saturday, April 20 and Saturday, April 27 from 9:00am-12:00pm. No appointment is necessary. A parent or guardian must accompany the student. The meeting will focus on the importance of Adolescent Immunizations. Special guest speakers are Nick Springer, National Meningitis Association, and Dr. Marealita Pierce.
The meeting will be at the University of Illinois at Chicago Student Center East 750 South Halsted Street, Room 329- Cardinal Room, Chicago, IL 60607. Breakfast and registration will be from 8:30am-9am. The meeting will conclude at 12pm.
