This is a great opportunity for students to engage in state government, and also complete service-learning hours if applicable.  Transportation is available via bus to and from Springfield.  ICSHC will cover bus transportation costs.  A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for all who participate.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Megan Erskine at ICSHC.  Our phone number is 312- 491-8161.  We are excited for Advocacy Day, and look forward to working with you to make it a success.

      Team leader responsibilities include: 

  • Participating in Advocacy Day.

  • Recruiting a team of youth, parents, teachers, providers and/or partners to participate in Advocacy Day.

  • Collecting consent forms for all members of your Advocacy Day team.

  • Leading your team through Advocacy Day activities, trainings and meetings with legislators.

Resources are available at ICSHC for team leaders and Advocacy Day participants.  We are currently planning team leader trainings for those who wish to lead a group. Chicago training dates are February 11th and February 22nd.  If you have group planning on attending Advocacy Day, please do not hesitate to contact Megan Erskine at (312) 491-8161 for set up a team leader training in your region.
