You did it - health reform is now the law of the land!
Send a thank you to members of Congress who voted in favor of health reform!
History was made in the last 10 days with the passage and signing into law of two major pieces of federal legislation that will reform our nation's health care system.
First and foremost, THANK YOU for taking action! Your emails, calls, in-person meetings, attendance at rallies and many other actions helped contribute to the reasons why so many members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation voted "YES".
As a result of your efforts, insurance companies will no longer be able to deny coverage to persons with pre-existing conditions or drop them when they become sick and need coverage the most. Small businesses will benefit from tax credits that will help them offer coverage to their workers.
Women will be guaranteed coverage for maternity and newborn care and no longer face discriminatory insurance pricing because of their gender. Members of Congress will be required to be in the same health plans as millions of Americans and small businesses.
